We are a Fine Art Gallery that carries original art representing some of American’s greatest painters, both past and present, European Masters, Alaskan favorites, Native Arts and Crafts, and Bronzes.

ALASKAN COLLECTION

Our collection represents some of Alaska’s most famous artists.

The cover piece is an original done by Eustace Ziegler. Eustace Ziegler (1881-1969), did study art at the Detroit Institute of Art and later Yale University School of Art, but it was as a missionary that he came to Alaska. He arrived in Cordova, Alaska in 1909 to serve as Episcopal minister and run the Red Dragon mission. While attending to the mission, Ziegler began painting the Native people, miners, daily activities and of course Mt. McKinley. We currently have nine paintings by Ziegler.

Alaska’s most beloved painter is Sydney Laurence (1865-1940). Laurence is said to have studied with Thomas Moran, and later traveled to the artist colony at Saint Ives, on the coast of Cornwall in England. He came to Alaska in 1904 like so many others, in search of gold. He did not find gold, lucky for us, and he returned to painting.

Alaska’s most famous living painter would have to be Fred Machetanz. We have many limited edition signed prints of his most famous paintings depicting the way of life of many Alaskans.

Other Alaskan favorites in the collection are originals by James Belcher, Josephine Crumrine, Ernest Roberston, Harvey Goodale, Ellen Henne, George Aghupuk, Marvin Magnus, Byron Birdsall and more.
