GOODWIN, Richard LaBarre: Born 1840 in Albany, New York, died 1910 in Orange, NJ. Studied with his father Edwin, a portrait and miniature painter. He mainly worked in NYC. He exhibited Lewis & Clark Centenn., Portland 1905, has pieces at Stanford and Smithsonian. Worked as itinerant portrait painter for 25 years in Syracuse, NY., Wash. DC., Chicago, Colorado Springs, Portland, then back to Rochester, NY. Best known for still life paintings of game and fish. Strong auction record.
