JOSEPHINE CRUMRINE: Born in 1917 in Seattle. First trained by her mother Nina, an accomplished artist, and later went to San Francisco, then to the Art Center in LA, then to the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center for further artistic study. Mostly known for her pastels and oil portraits of Alaskan sled dogs. Eight of these pastels were commissioned by the Alaska Steamship Company in 1941 to be reproduced as menus and have become very collectible.
