Belcher, James: Born 1941 Began his early training at home with his aunt, who was also a professional artist, and he has continued "learning each day" . Full time professional artist since 1975. Belcher overcame many obstacles to achieve national recognition. He is now one of a hand full of Signature artists recognized by the Oil Painters of America (1991) and is also an Artist Member of the prestigious American Society of Marine Artists, (1994). His work runs a full spectrum from portraiture to landscape and seascape, mostly of the American West and Northwest. He live with his wife, Anna, and his youngest son, in Big Lake, Alaska.
