POPE, Alexander: Born in Brookline, MA in 1849, died in Boston, MA in 1924. Studied with W. Rimmer. Member of Copley S. 1883, Boston AC. Published "Upland Game Birds and Water Fowl of the United States." His specialty was still life paintings and wooden models of animals and game birds. After 1912 he was chiefly a portrait painter.
